Foley sound is sound effects added to the film during post production , these sounds include footsteps, clothes rustling , crockery , doors slamming and opening , there are many more foley sounds that are created based around everyday life.

Why bother with Foley Sound?
Without Foley sound a film sounds hollow and empty . It has shown that old historical films seems lifeless when screened without sound therefore Foley sounds helps bring dead images to life but also adds a element of realism.
