A student remake of the film The Shadow
Sound: The sound in this film opening at the beginning builds up a slight bit of tension as it flows with the text. The music then changes and builds up speed as the film opening gets into more detail, the music used makes me feel that this film is going to be a bit mysterious, sad and putting those two together, a thriller/action film. There wasn't any other sound involved s the music was pretty much the same.
Mise en scene: Throughout the opening the lighting is dark, and usually dark lighting represents a thriller genre. Whilst the background was dark there was a small bit of light that must have been shone on the man (when he was training) which meant it was not natural lighting. Also the light that was shone on the man represented him as a main character whether he is represented as hero or villan was hard to tell so that is for the audience to decide. The prop which was a weapon, used by the man also helps the audience decide what genre the film is going to be as weapons indicate and action film. The weapon makes me personally feel that the man is a dangerous character.
Camera: Not much camera shots were used in this opening. However A high angle was used when the man was doing press ups, the high angle usually makes a character seem vulnerable but in this case it made the man look strong as you got to see the width and big build of the man. A pan was used at the cemitary but im not to sure what the reason for that was. Apart from that the camera was mostly still.
Editing: The early slow upward movement of the text was good as it set the rest of the tone for the opening.
